Mission
The Mission of Women's History Month Kingston (WHMK) is to celebrate the diversity and contributions of people who identify as women. Launching from the historical (and sometimes forgotten or unrecognized past), our goal is to empower people, here and now, towards an inclusive future where anyone’s impact can be revered.
WHMK was established in March 2019 as a community collaboration, where different organizers hosted a series of events to highlight women’s history through a diversity of perspectives. Now with a steering committee comprised of volunteers from Kingston businesses and arts and cultural organizations, we’re gearing up for March 2020! We organize through a horizontal leadership model to ensure that Women’s History Month Kingston is a true realization of the community’s needs and wants.
